Mark Janse

Computational Scientist Intern

Mark received his M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering (both cum laude) from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2018, with a focus on digital signal processing and medical image analysis. Afterwards, he joined University Medical Center Utrecht to perform his Ph.D. research on using AI to assess chemotherapy response in breast cancer, based on routine MR imaging. He intends to defend his thesis on this topic soon. Prior to joining UTSW, Mark worked at Health-RI, where he focused on exchange of medical imaging (meta)data for scientific purposes on an international scale as part of the flagship European Cancer Imaging project. He joined the BioHPC team in 2025,  aiming to further work on user-friendly workflows for high performance compute workflows. In his spare time, Mark is an avid Formula 1 follower and loves to run.
